The Bike Experience - Development for USA

Okay, lately I have been in communication with a lot of the motorcycle riding community that are disabled.  These riders' courage is very admirable.  Currently The Bike Experience http://web.me.com/tskeelspiggins/Disabled_Motorcycling/Bike_Experience.html   has a division in the UK and I am gathering interest and common efforts to bring The Bike Experience to the USA in northern California.
Here is a quick video of what is possible and how it happens... basically.     One group that is also helping bring this great program for wheelchair people is  the American National Association for Bikers with a Disability   They are located at the following site and are also accepting donations for their charity cause.  http://anabd.org/About_Us.html

This project is in the early planning stages, and for now my biggest objective is getting connected to all interested parties. I am communicating with both disabled and able-bodied riders from around the world that have experience with this kind of riding, and I am always interested with connecting with more people. Please contact me if you can help with:

- Strategy and planning advise on how to create a program like this
- Technical advice on the outrigger system that aids these riders at low speeds, where to source it, alternative construction methods, etc
- Opportunities to connect with other like-minded organizations and people
- Sourcing the physical needs for a program like this (ie storage, equipment, transportation, etc)

ABOUT TO BEGIN RR

Thanks to Help from the Challenged Athletes Foundation of San Diego and other sponsors!  The Race Shifter Kart is being worked on today in San Jose by Cambrian Go Karts.  They will prepare the Kart to full race spec in the 125cc class.   As soon as its finished Ted will prepare the last part of setup,  full shifter hand controls.  This may be a very tricky task.  After that, RACING will begin!!!

The original para motorbike Retired.

Its a sad day to see the WINKLE CYCLE go out of use;  although it has a brand new aircraft tire put on, the bike itself has traveled well over 2,000 miles then as well as new chain tensioners and a turn lamp indicator lens, needless to say it will be ready for a museum.  However, bigger bikes are in order for more of a range of users as well as versatility.   This was one of its last hot laps around the mountain house circuit after 2-stroke leaf blowing the corners at 3 am for the practice runs.  This was before the neighborhood was built and only the streets were put in.

Full SIZE motorbike adapted for wheelchair user

With the help of my friends especially Jim and John;   I am going to build is a KTM 950 super motard with full on hand controls and an electrically actuated "outrigger" system for stability at speeds lower than 5 mph and stops.    This will also include a bracket of metal off the back of bike for wheelchair to mount to when out riding around.

... Steven's 70 project ...

Steve has been working on his 70cc honda centrifugal clutch 3 speed hardtail motorbike for a person to use who normally uses a wheelchair;  thus experiencing the balance of two wheels into and out of a turn again.

Lately,  progress has been building along one piece at a time.  Pictures will be added here as soon as possible...
