Before I had my accident I spent time working as a ranch hand in New Mexico. I came to appreciate industrial skills like welding and metal working. So I have spent a lot of time on craigslist accumulating tool boxes, desks, work benches, lighting, tools, etc. Most of what I work with has come from craisglist deals, and I've been able to get a pretty good setup for much less than what it normally would cost. I prefer to do business that way so I can make the most of the money that I have.
I took welding courses at the local community college and I've got a water cooled TIG welder set up in my garage which lets me do a lot of cool things. I use these skill to pick up welding side work when I'm able to. I have even welded a couple motorcycle frames together.
