My Winkle motorcycle project

Here is a small homemade motorcycle that I have been messing around with for a while. I built it by myself out of some various craigslist items that I had been accumulating. I used a small engine with a centrifugal clutch and the fork from a kids dirtbike, and the rear assembly of a pocket bike.

The bike itself is not that fast. But I've made improvements to the motor, including my own exhaust. I have welded all of these parts by myself with a TIG welder in my garage. I have also created my own wiring harness to accommodate a system of blinkers and lights so that I could get it approved and registered as a street legal vehicle.

The key component in the design of this bike were the holsters for my feet and the retractable training wheels that would help me get going and come down if I needed to stop. I have fallen off it a couple of times, so it has taken some time to get used to.

Although its a pretty laughable design and it looks funny, this bike is what really has opened up more opportunities for me and has kept me going. I've had a lot of fun with it and I am aiming to do it all over again in a much better way. It's going to be really cool!

-8-20-2011------  The Latest news ---  on this project is that it has a freshly built brand new Honda clone motor that has been improved by Ken Rice @ Rice Cars and Engines.    Here are some pictures.  The bike now has over 1,000 Miles on the original aircraft rear tire design.
TIME for a new ride... coming soon
